Metamorphisis

Rich tapestry, florals, baroque detail - there is nothing simple about this look, but it is easy to wear. Just follow the rile that embellishment is key. Lenses by David Slijper and styled by Anne-Marie Curtis this story in Elle UK's September issue has us speechless.

Hello Katy

Pop megastar Katy Perry tries on the fall collections for size with the September cover shoot of L’Officiel Paris. Stylist Vanessa Bellugeon gives Katy a gothic edge with dark looks from the likes of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Jil Sander and McQ by Alexander McQueen on display in luxe images shot by Cuneyt Akergiou. The beauty gets a medieval touch with red tresses by hair stylist Renato Campora and rouged cheeks by makeup artist Jake Bailey.

Cross my heart

Lately, the fashion world's been enraptured with statement-making cross jewelry, which lends a Gothic-inspired element to any outfit! Just consider Vogue Japan Editor-at-Large (and street style favorite) Anna Dello Russo, who paired a chunky pendant necklace with a sophisticated dress, or a look from Versace's F/W 12 runway, where a bright yellow top got emblazoned with a bold Celtic cross. Inspired by these examples, we hunted down some of our favorite pieces, from an elaborate Topshop necklace to an understated Pamela Love ring! Click through our slideshow for our cross jewelry must-haves, and let us know which one you can't wait to try.

Royal instincts

There's a reason why purple ruled the runways this season! Less basic than black, yet still deep and
opulent enough for the season's darker color palette, this jewel-tone shade lends itself well to dramatic styles.
A number of designers, including Christopher Kane, Marc Jacobs, Prada, and Salvatore Ferragamo, saturated their fall shows with the rich hue. From a textured, deep indigo coat to a sheer violet blouse, the color turns easily from mysterious and alluring to sophisticated and feminine.

Haute Couture
